A Beauty Diary: The Ultimate Clean Regime with Credo.

A Beauty Diary: The Ultimate Clean Regime with Credo., NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Organic Skincare, Credo Beauty, RMS, Herbivore Botanicals, Acure Organics, One Love Organics, Kypris, SPF, Daily Sunscreen, Kjear Weis, Natural Beauty. It’s no secret that I’m a full fledged skincare enthusiast. I’ve always been the girl who’s shelves play host to bottles, and jars threatening to tumble off for lack of space. I write about it a lot. In fact recently I shared my home-made weapon for keeping my skin glowing in abundance. The lesson here though is, not all effective skincare can be whipped up in my kitchen (or if it can I definitely don’t have the time) — it can however be “totally clean”.

Vérité partnered with Credo to bring you an intrinsic look into my daily regime, and if I’m being totally transparent, now’s the perfect time. Since moving myself, and the business to LA over a year ago my skin has changed in a lot of ways. Blame pollution, blame the dry heat, blame excessive sun, blame the harsh water — all these elements have come into play in leaving my pores rough, and my exterior dehydrated. Thus, I’ve had to do some serious recon on my daily routine in order to make the edits needed to also adapt to this new land. I turn to Credo’s product range as all its brands have been carefully selected for their organic, clean, or natural ingredients. You may have noticed we almost only ever cover clean products on Vérité, so this is the biggest seller for me.

First thing’s first, my morning skin regime is as slow, and indulgent as my pour over. After brushing my teeth, I have gotten into the habit of using a copper tongue scraper (you can purchase these at Whole Foods or on Amazon) to rid my body of toxins that build up overnight. I’m telling you this unsavory part of my method because these toxins can come back out through your skin in the form of acne if you’re not careful! I then swish my mouth with water and a few drops of Clove Oil for a handful of minutes. This is not only great for white teeth and mouth health — but has been said to be like a form of oil pulling which can be great for your skin’s glow! I’ve always held the belief that (for my skin at least) overly cleansing can strip skin of the natural oils it produces to repair itself. When I wake I simply splash my face with water, sans product. Next, I use One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm to re-hydrate areas in need. With the tip of my finger I dab it all around my eyes, and lips. While this sets in I slather my entire being in RMS Raw Coconut Cream. Coconut oil is possibly my biggest beauty fix found to date. I use it for everything from makeup remover (more on this later), to hair mask. Next, is the most important step of my whole day — SPF. I’m often running errands in the harsh LA light, so this step is one I take very seriously. I use Kypris Heliotropic SPF 30 Treatment Primer on my face, neck, chest, and on the back of my hands for optimum protection. Trust me when I say I’ve tried every SPF under the sun, and this one is by far my favorite.A Beauty Diary: The Ultimate Clean Regime with Credo., NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Organic Skincare, Credo Beauty, RMS, Herbivore Botanicals, Acure Organics, One Love Organics, Kypris, SPF, Daily Sunscreen, Kjear Weis, Natural Beauty.

I’ve never been much of a makeup girl so this part of getting ready is easy. My overall vibe is: I’ve just been riding the Manhattan subway in the dead of summer — dewy and flushed. I achieve this by brushing up my brows, applying a few flutters of mascara, and then laying on the glow-inducers. I can’t go without my RMS Living Luminizer and Kjaer Weis Dazzling Bronzer. The first is more of a highlighter, second a bronzer, but when at work together they create pure magic. Using my fingers I place these two consecutively on the bridge of my nose, along the protrusions of my cheekbones, below and above my brow, and in the inner corners of my eyes — anywhere you would want to define your angles. The sexiest place you can apply these is sitting right on top of the cupid’s bow of your top lip. For special occasions I’ll go for a glossy eye — again applying RMS Raw Coconut Cream in a thick layer on my eyelids.A Beauty Diary: The Ultimate Clean Regime with Credo., NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Organic Skincare, Credo Beauty, RMS, Herbivore Botanicals, Acure Organics, One Love Organics, Kypris, SPF, Daily Sunscreen, Kjear Weis, Natural Beauty.

On any given evening, I can be seen smothered in some kind of skin treatment. First I’ll wipe the day off my face with Acure Coconut + Argan Oil Cleansing Towlettes, then rinse with water. I take my time with this making sure I get all the pollution out of my pores. For days when I might have tougher makeup to wipe off, I use raw coconut oil and a wipe. Next is a step I’ve adapted since the relocation — getting so much more sun I find it important to give my skin some extra help with brightening. Sun can leave its caresses all over us in the form of dark markings or discoloration. To even everything out, I use Herbivore Botanicals Brighten Mask (smells like a tropical cocktail, big plus) a few times a week. Once or twice a week, after my brightening, I will mix up this mask and let sit for about 15 minutes.A Beauty Diary: The Ultimate Clean Regime with Credo., NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Organic Skincare, Credo Beauty, RMS, Herbivore Botanicals, Acure Organics, One Love Organics, Kypris, SPF, Daily Sunscreen, Kjear Weis, Natural Beauty.

Once I have successfully given my face all the love it can soak in, I turn yet again to One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm, before moisturizing for a night of rest. I’ve been really into skin oils so I have a variety to choose from, but I love Herbivore Botanicals facial oils. Lastly before crawling into bed, I wipe on a heavy gob of lip moisturizer, and massage both temples with sesame seed oil for a calm sleep with a bottle of water at my side. A Beauty Diary: The Ultimate Clean Regime with Credo., NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Organic Skincare, Credo Beauty, RMS, Herbivore Botanicals, Acure Organics, One Love Organics, Kypris, SPF, Daily Sunscreen, Kjear Weis, Natural Beauty.

Anti-Aging, Acne, & Botox — We Asked A Skin Expert All The Questions Burning Inside of You!

Anti-Aging, Acne, & Botox — We Asked A Skin Expert All The Questions Burning Inside of You! NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Anti Aging, Preventative Beauty, Preventative Skincare, Beverly Hills, MD, Botox, Laser Treatments, Los Angeles, Plastic Surgeon, LA, Hollywood, Skin Secrets.
Skin can be so damn confusing, why? Because each of our exteriors are tailor made just for us. Sounds chic, but what it really means is there’s no one right answer for everyone when it comes to its mysteries and maintenance. There are however a few proven guidelines, that if followed can extensively aid in caring for yourself, and in slowing the aging process even just a little. We got ahold of Ursula Diaz, Beverly Hills Beauty Expert, and Co-Founder of Honor MD — a three step skincare regime crafted to make you radiate — to ask her all those beauty questions we know you want answers to!

VÉRITÉ: How can women in their early twenties begin preventative aging in their skincare regimes?

URSULA DIAZ: The best thing women in their twenties can do to prevent signs of premature aging is to add sunscreen and antioxidants to their daily skin care regimen. Studies have shown that the sun’s damaging UV rays are responsible for approximately 80% of visible signs of aging on the face. i.e. wrinkles, uneven skin tone and hyper-pigmentation (brown spots). Applying sunscreen to your face, neck, and chest daily will not only prevent signs of aging, but it will also prevent skin cancer. By applying topical antioxidants to the skin like vitamin c protects the skin from free radical damage caused by pollution and they also add an extra layer of UV protection.
My two favorites are Protect SPF 45 and Renew vitamin C serum by Honor MD.  Protect is great physical sunscreen that is good for all skin types and contains hydrating hyaluronic acid. Renew is a powerful antioxidant serum that contains 15% vitamin C, vitamin E and ferulic acid. Renew not only prevents premature signs of aging it also helps to reverse any existing lines and dark spots.

V: How is pollution in our cities harmful to our skin and it’s aging process?

UD: Pollution breaks down collagen in the skin, causes inflammation and can impair healthy cell function. This process will eventually lead to wrinkles, skin laxity (the lose of elasticity) and discoloration.

V: Does pollution speed up the aging process?

UD: Yes, pollution does speed up the aging process by causing free radical damage to the skin. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that cause damage to cell membranes, lipids, proteins and DNA. This damage results in inflammation, wrinkles, brown spots and overall bad skin quality. If you live in a heavily polluted city like Los Angeles it is imperative to clean your skin everyday and protect it with antioxidants and sunscreen. The Honor System Anti-Aging by Honor MD is a simple and effective skin care regimen that prevents and treats signs of aging.

V: What can girls who don’t feel comfortable with / or ready for Botox do to prevent wrinkles and lines?

UD: The first line of defense for preventing wrinkles and lines should be skincare.  Sunscreen, antioxidants and retinol are musts and should be used in conjunction with any in-office treatments, even Botox.
Two excellent Botox alternative treatments are Microneedling and the Clear and Brilliant laser. Micro-needling rejuvenates the skin by creating “micro” punctures in the epidermis (top layer of the skin), which stimulates the skin’s self-repair or wound healing process. This natural process creates increased collagen and elastin production over time. Micro-needling not only reduces signs of aging, but it’s also great for correcting texture issues such as mild acne scarring.
The Clear and Brilliant is a non-ablative laser treatment that helps treat and prevent early signs of aging from the inside out. It uses laser energy to make focused stimulation sites to replace damaged cells with healthy younger looking skin. It is a great treatment for preventing and treating wrinkles and also helps to diminish the appearance of brown spots. I love both of these treatments because they are effective, have minimal downtime and leave the skin with a radiant glow. Both are available here at our practice in Beverly Hills.

Anti-Aging, Acne, & Botox — We Asked A Skin Expert All The Questions Burning Inside of You! NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED, Skincare, Beauty, Anti Aging, Preventative Beauty, Preventative Skincare, Beverly Hills, MD, Botox, Laser Treatments, Los Angeles, Plastic Surgeon, LA, Hollywood, Skin Secrets.V: At what age would you suggest women begin Botox?

UD: According to expert injector and Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. John Diaz, early 30s is a good time to start getting Botox treatments. However, there are other factors besides age, like the extent of visible signs of aging and skin quality that should be taken into consideration when deciding when to start getting Botox treatments.  Women who take great care of their skin and use sun protection daily can typically wait longer to get Botox or need much less of it, than women who have neglected their skin or who are sun worshipers.
Generally, if you have lines at rest (when you are not speaking or making a facial expression) then you would likely benefit from Botox injections. I think people misunderstand or misuse the term “preventative Botox.” Someone that does not have lines at rest does not need Botox. If you do have lines at rest, but they are not very deep it good to treat them before the wrinkles become very pronounced. This way you prevent them from becoming deep wrinkles and you will need less Botox over time.

V: How do you feel about dermarollers?

UD: I think dermarollers can be extremely effective, but can do more harm than good if not used properly. They can improve skin texture (over time) and they can help skin care products penetrate the skin better, but if not used correctly they can tear the skin, which could lead to scarring. I would suggest having it done in a dermatologist or plastic surgeon’s office with a skin care professional.  Alternatively, you could try microneedling treatments. Micro-needling is a much stronger version of this same treatment making it more effective.

V: What lifestyle shifts do you suggest on top of good skincare for preventative measures?

UD: Eating a healthy balanced diet rich in vitamins and antioxidants can do wonders for the skin. Adding skin boosting vitamin supplements like vitamins A, B C, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial for beautiful skin from the inside out. Exercising helps nourish skin cells and eliminate toxins from the body. Lastly, getting plenty sleep is imperative for beautiful, healthy skin.

V: Let’s talk acne, I’ve been hearing a lot of chatter lately about cystic pimples, what exactly are they?

UD: Acne develops when hair follicles or pores become clogged by oil and dead skin cells. Once the pore is clogged, and the bacteria that is present in the hair follicle begins to grow, the pore becomes enlarged and inflamed. These inflamed spots are called comedones or “pimples.” There are many types of comedones/pimples and cystic pimples are pus-filled bumps that form deep within the skin.

V: How do we prevent them?

Acne is caused by increased oil production and the build up of dead skin cells and bacteria within pores so it is very important to be consistent with a skin care regimen that helps regulate oil on the skin, kills bacteria and increases cell turn over. I recommend using a cleanser with 2% salicylic acid to clear away the build up of dead cells and unclog pores. Followed by a toner that contains lactic, salicylic and glycolic acids to chemically exfoliate the skin and help dissolve sebum (oil) with clogged pores. Using a product that contains between 2.5-5% of benzoyl peroxide on acne prone areas of your skin will kill bacteria causing acne helping to heal active acne breakouts and prevent new ones from forming.
Oil production can be increased by hormonal shifts and stress so incorporating stress-relieving activities (ie: yoga, meditation, bubble bath) is also very helpful. Exercise, eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of sleep also help to prevent acne breakouts by reducing inflammation and boosting your immune system.

V: How do we cure these pesky pimples?

UD: Cystic acne typically needs to be treated with topical or oral antibiotics, hormonal therapy or prescription strength retinoid (vitamin A). Do not attempt to extract cystic pimples because it can lead to severe scarring. If you have cystic acne it is important to seek medical attention from a skin care professional.

Eau Thermal Avène Antirougeures Day Redness Relief Soothing Cream SPF 25
It’s what the French girls wear… or at least that’s what Violet Grey tells us (and we will literally believe anything they say). Not only does it prevent further redness but it also helps repair any damage that already exists. This SPF is to be included in your morning routine — after you sip your pour over, and before you apply your makeup. C’est bon! We swear.

Kari Gran Three Sixty Five SPF 28
You need a product that is UVA and UVB resilient to keep your skin looking young and fresh. Kari Gran’s serum is brimming with clean ingredients that will ensure your derm. is in the best hands. If you are more a fan of a gel serum than a cream, this one’s for you!

Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35
You’ve surely heard that Glossier joined in the SPF game, and we welcome with open arms. Reasons to love include the fact that it is not the white layer we are used to wiping on, but a clear gel formula that sits transparently on your skin. It also acts as a shield to pollution, and harmful elements. Our Summer 2017 Round-Up of The Best SPF Products You Need Now! NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- SPF, Skincare, Beauty, Clean Beauty Products, Sunscreen, The Best Sunscreen, Anti-Aging, Preventative Beauty, Preventative Skincare, Violet Grey, Credo Beauty, Glossier, Aquaphore, Aveda, Haircare.

L’Oreal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Facial Oil SPF 30
We are hardly quiet about our obsession with facial oils. Our bathroom shelves are littered with all shapes and sizes, but this one stands alone in its ability to guard. Mixing eight essential oils with an SPF 30 is the perfect morning rub down your pores need. Have no fear, it’s grease clear!

Aquaphore Lip Protectant + Sunscreen

Aquaphore is practically a religion in these parts. When we stumbled across the lip protectant + sunscreen (SPF 30 that is), we nearly had an existential crisis — what is life? We’ve recovered and suggest you keep a tube of these in each of your purses. Lips are such magnets for itty-bitty wrinkles that can be caused by harsh exposure, and a lack of moisture. Two birds, one magical tube.

Suntegrity Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 for Body

While our faces seem to take top priority, we must not forget the ultra-sensitive skin such as our décolletage and that thin skin on the backs of our hands. A body SPF isn’t a bad idea for those of us in geographically-clothing-oposed areas of the world. Suntegirty is great because it’s non-greasy, Paraben, Phthalate and Mineral Oil Free.

Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil

The most overlooked place that sun can get its harmful little grasp on us is our scalp! Those rays can just as easily damage our tresses as it can our pores, so be sure to spritz some of this Aveda sun care when exposing to heat to scare off dryness, and breakage.

Turmeric! Our Secret To Fighting Bloat, Aging, and More.

Turmeric! Our Secret To Fighting Bloat, Aging, and More. -- VERITE PUBLISHED --- Turmeric, Curcumin, Health, Beauty, Detox, Diet, Natural skincare, natural diet, Inflammation, How to lose water weight, How to fight inflammation, ayurvedic medicine, traditional chinese medicine, arthritis, how to fight bloat, how to fight swelling, Alternative medicine, anti-aging.We are here to divulge our biggest beauty hack…yep, Turmeric is our secret to fighting bloat, aging, and more! In the ironic world of trend foods, this electric orange root is an all-star and we are happy to head the fan club. It was just last time sitting in my hairdresser’s chair that he raved about the insane sprouting of my tresses. It was true, in a short four months it had extended an incredible amount, especially for someone who bleaches it an ivory blonde. After a quick brainstorm we came to the conclusion it was the daily doses of turmeric I was intaking that had bettered my hair and facilitated a Repunzal state. Turmeric is known to heal and promote thriving of our bodies in many ways — it’s most active element called curcumin is what delivers the anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

Though it may be buzzing in beauty columns now, it has been around at the root of Ayurvedic and TCM medicines for centuries — and its benefits reach so much further than hair (it’s said to help protect against cancer, arthritis and Alzheimer’s). Turmeric is used in these ancient medicines to heal stomachs, promote anti-aging (it’s the anti-oxidants and bioactive compounds that rejuvenate our cells), and repair creaky muscles and joints. It beholds anti-inflammatory abilities that make it the most useful to us in our current state. Due to the structure of our diets, and lifestyles, we are full of toxins from factory fabricated foods and pollutions that make for overly retaining figures – our bodies insulate with a swelling or bloating (as we call it) that has a hard time detoxing from these harsh elements. Those few extra pounds you have a hard time shedding? it’s more than likely inflammation. Involving turmeric in your daily diet invites it to come to the rescue whether you seek to press pause on the process of aging, or combat something as serious as arthritis.

Something you must note about properly digesting turmeric is it is a fat soluble, meaning it dissolves best with fat for your body to be able to reap its benefits. As simple as adding black pepper or coconut oil to your fresh turmeric, or insuring the turmeric pills you purchase have this already will make it easier for the spice to work its magic.

Whether you incorporate our bed time turmeric concoction into your diet, find a daily vitamin, or sprinkle it into your cooking, this vibrant-hued root is nothing but a miracle worker.

Our Most Intimate Interview Yet: We Ask Spanish Designer of Cortana about Clothes, Taboos of Sex, and Iowaska.

Our Most Intimate Interview Yet: We Ask Spanish Designer of Cortana about Clothes, Taboos of Sex, and Iowaska. -- Verite Published --- Bridal, Spain, Barcelona, Spanish Designer, Women's Designer, ready-to-wear, you need to know this designer, female empowerment, wedding dresses, beauty, fashion, style, personal style, high-end designer, fashion week, editorial, minimal, masturbation, sex. When a friend insists you have coffee with and rack the brain of Spanish beauty, and designer of the Ready-To-Wear label Cortana you just say yes. We can’t even count the reasons why but here are a few: she creates insanely stunning and minimal pieces that embody true female beauty, she has that bold sexiness saved for Latin women — and we’re hoping some might rub off, and finally she’s got some serious pearls of wisdom to share. We spent hours with Rosa Esteva hashing out clothes, sex, taboos, and even mind-altering states — because how could we not? Meet Rosa.
Our Most Intimate Interview Yet: We Ask Spanish Designer of Cortana about Clothes, Taboos of Sex, and Iowaska. -- Verite Published --- Bridal, Spain, Barcelona, Spanish Designer, Women's Designer, ready-to-wear, you need to know this designer, female empowerment, wedding dresses, beauty, fashion, style, personal style, high-end designer, fashion week, editorial, minimal, masturbation, sex.

Vérité: So let’s talk about your line Cortana. What was the inspiration for starting your company?

Rosa Esteva: I’m just so inspired by women, and I feel like Cortana is like I’m in service to women. I just want them to feel very comfortable. Cortana doesn’t pretend to eclipse a woman’s personality. We believe what’s important is the person inside the dress, and the woman has to be seen. Sometimes you see the clothes but you don’t see her, so it’s good to know what looks the best on you.

V: Yes, and as a woman you can be dynamic, it’s always changing.

RE: Yeah, because we are all many women. A color can give you a vibration, can make you feel happier, can me you feel sexy. Fashion is transformative. It’s so much fun to be a woman huh?

V: I agree — and more so to be a woman that’s tapped into that.

RE: Yes, to have the freedom! We believe a lot in fabrics and cuts because we like very much the way you’re going to feel because this is the way you’re going to show yourself to the world, the way you’re going to reflect. It’s not how you look in the mirror, it’s how your energy will change. It’s not about the dress without you in it, it’s about you in the dress.

Were you always in fashion?

RE: Yes, I started my own label when I was 25. I went to fashion school before I did art school.

V: What have been things that shape the way you design?

RE: For example, I knew that I had this talent all my life because I feel so comfortable making women dress. For me it’s like a game, it’s very natural, and I just want it have beauty around. It makes me so happy to create beauty, and to see how a woman blooms when they find the right thing. It happens and it’s magical. How I started, when I was about ten my mother came back from India with a saree — an eight meter piece of cloth, it’s nothing itself but for me it was so telling because I was in front of the mirror, and now that’s the way I design. I also draw so much but from a fabric I see a dress, and from a woman I see a dress. But this saree was very revealing because I could see the fabric itself, the fabric talks, it has it’s own personality. Whatever you think of at the end, it’s the fabric that takes you there. It’s going to tell you how to deal with it because it moves, it has a life of its own. No matter how you want to control it you have to let it go because it will find its way — you have to always be open to what’s coming.

V: I recently had the conversation with someone about how right now with everything going on in the world it can seem silly to create something that could be received as frivolous, but then I realized actually no, this is the time we need that kind of beauty in the world, we need that uplifting element. What do you think about this?

RE: We need beauty more than ever because beauty is love. It’s a way of loving. If you look beautiful and you love yourself you are better to people. We do it because of love.

V: So it’s more of a partnership between you and the fabric when you design?

RE: Me and many other things — for example the person who makes the patterns, the model who’s going to try it on, the way she moves. I always try the clothes on because I like to know how it feels. Even when I was pregnant I was trying them on. You have to feel it for yourself, see the color, see the cut. I think Cortana is to feel more than to see. We take lots of care of the interior almost more than the exterior because we believe the thing that is going to be in contact with your skin.

Our Most Intimate Interview Yet: We Ask Spanish Designer of Cortana about Clothes, Taboos of Sex, and Iowaska. -- Verite Published --- Bridal, Spain, Barcelona, Spanish Designer, Women's Designer, ready-to-wear, you need to know this designer, female empowerment, wedding dresses, beauty, fashion, style, personal style, high-end designer, fashion week, editorial, minimal, masturbation, sex.V: Do you think in the beginning you were the inspiration for all your pieces, just from a place of self love?

RE: It’s always like this, if you don’t love yourself you can’t love other people. I’m inspired by other women and myself, but I’m very very inspired also by dance. I love the way things move when you dance. And the bodies of dancers, I’m very much inspired.

V: I can see that in your designs in the way they flow. Do you think being a mother has taught you about being a woman?

RE: Being a woman definitely. I was a girl before, and I discovered I was a woman only after I had my daughter. What it changed for me was my way of working. I spend less time working and I’m more focused because I want to be with my daughter and do other things — but everything is part of the same process of being a designer. It’s like walking on the street or hiking — my life is my work.

V: When do you feel sexiest?

RE: Naked! Bikini is the best dress.

V: You think the way your clothing fits women also instills this? It breathes, it’s lightweight?

RE: Yes, yes, to be almost a second skin. Something that moves with the body in a natural way. It allows freedom, which for me is so important. When you’re naked you feel free and sometimes when you get dressed you don’t. With Cortana I would like people to experience that.

V: How did you get into bridal?

RE: I got into bridal because when I got married I made my own wedding dress. I thought it was a nice thing to share because at that moment I found I had my own vision of wedding dresses that are also making you feel very pretty because love is freedom also.

V: So, beauty is love and love is freedom?

RE: Yes, and it’s truth also — Vérité. Do you think that only the truth can be sexy?

V: I would have to think about that, what do you think?

RE: Sometimes no. Sometimes it’s better not to know the truth. Sometimes creativity can be very theatrical and be very fake. It’s stepping out of our reality, and can be very sexy. Sometimes fashion can be like this and it’s amazing also — it’s surprising and fresh. Fashion is supposed to surprise also.

*at this point in the interview we look over to see a girl across the coffee shop, arm erect in front of her shamelessly snapping selfies.*

RE: there’s no shame in America! But I love it. I love it because everyone can be themselves and no one is going to judge you.

V: Yes but to an extent, but then there’s still so many things that are taboo in America like nudity.

RE: Yes! I was in boarding school in Massachusetts when I was in high school and I remember wow they were so conservative about some things. I remember one day talking about masturbation and they were like no way. I was like what!?

V: Yes, and it’s still something that’s not talked about, it’s not a publicly discussed thing.

RE: That’s a pity no?

V: I think so, because then we’re not educating people as well.

RE: So you should be ashamed of menstruation but not…? (Rosa looks over at girl taking selfies and we have a good laugh).

V: This is a question we always ask, but is there a book that has changed your life?

RE: I think actually I change my life every second because no matter what input you receive things will change but you have to be open. Sometimes a book can be very revealing but sometimes a movie, sometimes a song, sometimes a conversation with a friend, mushrooms or iowaska. You just have to be open to the revelation. Even a sentence will stick with you. Every minute, it just depends on how open you are. Some people travel and travel and travel, and read, read, read and aren’t open.

V: Have you done iowaska?

RE: No, I’m not scared but now I feel like everyone is doing iowaska now.

V: Do you believe we make our own story or it’s fate?

RE: I think we make it.

V: Especially as women.

RE: Yes, as women we are creators. We don’t need to have children, we are naturally creators. We are in a very good moment as women. We can change many things because feminine energy is magical. It’s more subtle than masculine but more changing. But women right now we have aspects of masculinity that are helpful to really do things.
