The Jade Egg, for Abundance

The jade egg is the most commonly practiced Yoni, and you’ll soon realize why! The most popular Jade stone is Nephrite. This egg is great for beginners, and that’s why it’s first on our list. Abundance seekers, this egg will invite all kinds of healing, and protection into your life. On a physical level Jade is known to promote kidney, reproductive, and stomach health. For those carrying stress in their gut, or who have had issues getting pregnant — this egg is for you! On an energy level, Jade turn away negative energy that comes at us from outside sources. Nephrite jade is said to attract elements of self-love, calm, grounding, and best of all monetary abundance.

The Rose Quartz, for Love

whether it’s self-love, or bandaging a tattered heart, the rose quartz yoni is Queen when it comes to matters of love. It is directly connected to the heart chakra, and is most used for those who seek to attract new love, mend old-love, or for those working on loving themselves, and finding compassion for others. What stands out most about this egg for us is it’s use for healing trauma. This is the egg for those who have experienced sexual, or mental trauma and seek to overcome that pain. Especially for women, sexual trauma is a frequent barrier — this little blush egg will help work with you to heal. Not to mention the Rose Quartz just looks like the epitome of feminine divine!

The Black Obsidian, for Intuition

Black Obsidian is quite the powerfully mysterious stone. For those wanting to establish a strong communication with their intuition this dark rock is for you. For physical health, it is said to ward off pesky PMS (okay, we’re all in now). On an energy level, we can start by saying it turns negative energy away, and can be used as a protector. This is another stone that can also aid in healing from trauma, we would even suggest treating yourself to a Black Obsidian Yoni first, and then moving on to a Rose Quartz if you are looking to work through body trauma. Deal with the nitty-gritty of the issue first, and then heal it with love.Yoni Eggs Part Two | Choosing A Yoni Egg to Attract What You Want in Life! It’s 2017 and the bar for how internet-breaking your album release is, is pretty high in these times. In an attempt to out-do the rest Katy Perry launches her new album ‘Witness’ (which hit outlets last Thursday) with a live stream three day weekend in a house that was built especially for this event. This means if one tapped in to her Youtube stream, they could watch her “everyday life” uninterrupted — even the hours she took to sleep. Only it wasn’t truly Katy’s everyday life. There were celeb visitors, on-air therapy sessions, and manufactured moments. In this day in age with social media, and the watchful eyes of the world always on you, celebrity figures must have a public persona, and a private one, and with this plaguing her it seemed in a marketing-fueled concept KP wanted to finally bridge that gap. What We Discovered From Katy Perry’s Live Stream Weekend, NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- Katy Perry, Instagram, Youtube, Live Stream, James Corden, Social Media, Music Photography, Black and White Photography, Influencer, Caitlyn Jenner, Derek Blasperg, John Mayer, Orlando Bloom, Diplo. What We Discovered From Katy Perry’s Live Stream Weekend, NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- Katy Perry, Instagram, Youtube, Live Stream, James Corden, Social Media, Music Photography, Black and White Photography, Influencer, Caitlyn Jenner, Derek Blasperg, John Mayer, Orlando Bloom, Diplo. She had soon kicked off her heeled boots to dance the stage unbridled. She is charismatic, charming, and relatable — the type of girl you could totally have a good immature giggle with. No wonder her fans are so attached. She’s a friend to them, only just out of reach. Standing in a sea of super fans you get a front row seat to view the symbiotic obsessive relationship between glimmering star and her public — no wonder she feels pressure, these kids hold expectations.

Social media has created celebrity to another level, and followers come to their screens wanting to be let in more and more by their idols. While it may not make sense to all of us, some actually want to watch KP sleep. Many times during her live-weekend, Katy Perry logs on to Instagram Live to real-time chat with her fans, while simultaneously surrounded with voyeuristic-style cameras in the home. Where are the boundaries? How transparent is too transparent? What We Discovered From Katy Perry’s Live Stream Weekend, NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- Katy Perry, Instagram, Youtube, Live Stream, James Corden, Social Media, Music Photography, Black and White Photography, Influencer, Caitlyn Jenner, Derek Blasperg, John Mayer, Orlando Bloom, Diplo. What We Discovered From Katy Perry’s Live Stream Weekend, NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- Katy Perry, Instagram, Youtube, Live Stream, James Corden, Social Media, Music Photography, Black and White Photography, Influencer, Caitlyn Jenner, Derek Blasperg, John Mayer, Orlando Bloom, Diplo.

In a streamed therapy session with Siri Sat Nam Singh, Ph.D., Katy breaks down in tears stating just this, that as a public figure she has had to create Katy Perry a larger than life quirky girl, when at her core she is truly Katheryn Hudson. We have to ask though, did she not create this character herself, out of the depths of her creative mind? She did, however it’s an armor of sorts. A protection from the prying eyes, and sometimes hands, of those who want to snag a little piece of this mega-star. We’ve seen it time and time again,

so many artists struggle with the question of if their fans will evolve with them — if the creative is allowed to grow. Sardined between crazed KP fans with stars in their eyes (maybe even a few tears), we are assured that they will follow her anywhere. What We Discovered From Katy Perry’s Live Stream Weekend, NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- Katy Perry, Instagram, Youtube, Live Stream, James Corden, Social Media, Music Photography, Black and White Photography, Influencer, Caitlyn Jenner, Derek Blasperg, John Mayer, Orlando Bloom, Diplo.

The vaster issue though is the public’s understanding of what is real, and what is marketing smoke and mirrors. Katy Perry’s live streamed weekend was the perfect example of this. In an attempt to keep part of themselves private, yet appear to give it all to the fans so many influencers must construct a fictional version of themselves only to balance their sanity, and satisfy the voyeur. What We Discovered From Katy Perry’s Live Stream Weekend, NOW ON VERITE PUBLISHED --- Katy Perry, Instagram, Youtube, Live Stream, James Corden, Social Media, Music Photography, Black and White Photography, Influencer, Caitlyn Jenner, Derek Blasperg, John Mayer, Orlando Bloom, Diplo.

Six Ways to Transform Your Space With Feng Shui

Six Ways to Transform Your Space With Feng Shui. ON VERITE PUBLISHED. --- Feng Shui, Interior Design, How to decorate your home, easy feng shui steps, how to manifest, energy work, space healing, los angeles, interiors.
Words by Meghan Wallace James.

Feng shui is my favorite lover. The longer we stay together, the better it gets… the alignment, the intuition, the communication between object and woman, the magic, the flow, the energy. As I peel back the layers, new intimacies are revealed – treasures that come from a daily practice of keeping temple, loving on my space / in my space. I believe that our home is a phenomenal portal for physical manifestation when we allow the energy to flow freely and beautifully. So what’s my ‘meet cute’ story with feng shui?

I amicably divorced the father of my children two years back. He kept our freshly renovated 1920’s Spanish in Beverly Hills, while I rented a sexy, yet tiny cottage. He wanted to keep everything and I wanted nada — no divorce juju, thank you very much. I had been pre-paving eccentric minimalism for years, and the Universe had delivered a bold opportunity. I had $5,000 to furnish the place and made each purchase thoughtfully yet with a light spirit. The result: a handmade Japanese futon with 70’s psychedelic brocade tatami trim, crisp white linens, Turkish bath towels, houseplants in glazed terra-cotta urns, a Shun chef’s knife, an Alessi French press, Heath dinnerware and a brand new vibrator (priorities). No carpets, no curtains, no art… I wanted to do it right or not do it at all. The few items from the old place furnished my boys’ zone, providing continuity during a major lifestyle transition. I sold or donated most of my clothing and books, keeping the favorites. Ahhhhhhhh, space to feel.  Can you feel it? I believe we all intuitively understand energetics of space, and with my first major feng shui foray, I was high on the results. Once I got my bearings, I sought out two master teachers: one Western and one Eastern, to create a unique, sensual  blend that I now share with clients.

Okay, okay — but how to get started sans drastic life change or big budget, you say? Let us begin our feng shui journey together with six fundamental steps:

  1. Create an eye catching, welcoming entrance. Step outside and look at your entrance.  Stand there for a bit. Use all of your senses and make an honest assessment: Would good vibes want to enter your space? Energy has to get in before it can circulate. Beautify that entrance, and your front door in particular — studio apartment, mcMansion — it honestly does not matter. You should be able to open and close the door clearly.  No piles of stuff, no creaking hinges, no cobwebs. Go bold and lacquer your front door Chinese Red to activate the energy. Curate fresh planters. Or simply sweep your walk.  Bonus points for a doormat and a mailbox that look receptive of abundance. Make sure porch lights are in working order, change the bulb for ambiance and set timers for nightfall – alight the path home for good fortune.
  2. Go shoe-free indoors. If you are not already, become a ‘shoe-free’ home. Right before or after crossing the threshold, take those puppies off. Encourage family members, roommates and guests to follow suite with a shoe tray or bench. To understand feng shui is to communicate in the language of metaphors… think of everywhere those shoes go… do you really want all of that energy in your sacred space? Not to mention basic hygiene; chic slipper game, yes please.

ON VERITE PUBLISHED. --- Feng Shui, Interior Design, How to decorate your home, easy feng shui steps, how to manifest, energy work, space healing, los angeles, interiors.3. Designate a home for every possession. Clear the clutter. Yep. This is the most obvious feng shui ‘cure’ and the most taxing process for many. Energetically, clutter is a series of unmade decisions, so take charge of your life and make those decisions. Pace yourself and do this cathartic work when you are in alignment, operating with positive energy, trusting that with every item you purge (sell, donate, trash) you are inviting in fresh energy. A gold standard is to aim for 50% volume: every closet, shelf, drawer, counter, surface should have half of the space free. Get artsy and arrange everyday objects into inspiring vignettes. You will feel a difference, I promise.

4. Bathroom shui at bay… close the toilet lid and keep the bathroom door shut.  This will quickly become second nature and will do wonders for the flow of your home.  Side note: fix any leaks in your space ASAP; leaking water indicates leaking weath.

ON VERITE PUBLISHED. --- Feng Shui, Interior Design, How to decorate your home, easy feng shui steps, how to manifest, energy work, space healing, los angeles, interiors.5. Keep it clear down there: nothing under the bed. Not a thing. You deserve clean and clear dreaming, direct messaging from the collective unconscious, untarnished by dusty crap. I have pulled the wildest objects out from underneath client’s beds, including a signed edition of Taschen’s “The Rolling Stones.” This client was dealing with multiple bad boy rock stars and mending a broken heart; apply the language of metaphor please.

6. Design a weekly life affirming ritual. Start a weekly ritual to clear stagnant energy and add life to your home. It can be as simple as dusting and saging, or opening all the windows and buying yourself flowers at the market. Escort out the old and welcome in the fresh regularly, and your life will start to bloom.

FEMME FEED | Four Reasons Why Netflix’s New Show Is So Important.

FEMME FEED | AN INSTALLATION OF “OF THE MOMENT”
STORIES FOR GIRLS IN THE KNOW.Four Reasons Why Netflix's New Show Is So Important. Now on VERITE PUBLISHED. 13 Reasons why, Netflix Original, TV, Series, Dylan Minette, Katherine Langford, Rape Victims, Sexual Assault, Online Bullying, High School.

Whether you have binged, or are holding off on what might be a high-school melodrama, Netflix’s latest series 13 Reasons Why (based on the novel by Jay Asher) is an important narrative the mass public can no longer shy away form. We don’t want to be the one to spoil the story for you, so we will stay within the barriers of vague, but the general plot gist is as such: cyber bullying in a high school setting leads to a series of backlash for those who made a teenage girl’s life un-livable. However it goes much beyond just social media attacks. There are two scenes in particular that stand out far beyond the rest — leading to the most tormenting of them all. Almost unfathomable to watch, let alone film, are the rape scenes.

Reason One: Hollywood has long been in the habit of skimming over this subject for entertainment’s sake but also for protection of the viewer. However, how will we teach the ethics of consent if young people cannot deeply feel the detriment, and repercussions of these actions? We can only hope one won’t have to experience these moments for themselves — making a visual teaching even more necessary if we want both boys and girls to develop a deep empathy for the victims of sexual assault without knowing it first hand. Four Reasons Why Netflix's New Show Is So Important. Now on VERITE PUBLISHED. 13 Reasons why, Netflix Original, TV, Series, Dylan Minette, Katherine Langford, Rape Victims, Sexual Assault, Online Bullying, High School.

Reason Two: The conversation of rape has been very public in the past few years, for both the good and bad. Women are taking stances, being more vocal about their experiences, and banding together to aid one another in healing. However, each coin has a flip side and as many resources as are being built it is also prominent that our judicial and school systems are failing many who find themselves in this place of trauma. 13 Reasons Why may be TV but it adapts a very real issue on campuses both high school and college in which a hierarchy of students allows many to feel entitled over their peers, even to the point of assault. This often comes with the mindset of either knowing they will get away with it, or thinking their actions were justified in the first place. And what happens after school? These predators trickle out into the world — into our offices, bars, and neighborhoods. As the episodes unfold it eerily introduces an archetype of men we face everyday in our lives — those who have been egotistically pumped up to believe they can do no wrong, even if their physical actions are in fact very wrong. Illegal to be exact.

Reason Three: We watch as two separate characters react to how the sexual trauma effected them — it’s painful, it’s cringeworthy, it’s very real. Everyone reacts to shock differently and it’s important for the consumers of the show to understand that all expressions are valid. There is no template for how one can digest a physical crisis as invasive as this. This leads to the importance of understanding that many times a drastic change in someone’s behavior can translate to a cry for help.

Four Reasons Why Netflix's New Show Is So Important. Now on VERITE PUBLISHED. 13 Reasons why, Netflix Original, TV, Series, Dylan Minette, Katherine Langford, Rape Victims, Sexual Assault, Online Bullying, High School.Reason Four: There is a very wrong cultural construct that weighs down heavily on women — that is called slut shaming (for lack of a better term). Throughout our careers as students, then young adults, we as girls are told that a certain skirt length, or style of top could draw the wrong kind of attention. Over time this equates to girls feeling that when they are faced with harmful attention (even just verbal) that they are to blame in some way. Even their male counterparts often throw the blame in this direction (something the writers also included in 13 Reasons Why). Because of this construct, victims are often first to blame themselves in some sort of mangled mindset that they attracted this kind of energy. 13 Reasons Why is both underlining that the victim is never at fault, and that our society needs to rephrase how we nurture individuals to look at sexuality and action.

Send Nudes! — Do You?

“I’m weirded out by how quickly people are to send nudes as if it’s a business card.” — we are knee deep on a mission to get to the bottom of this whole ‘send nudes’ phenomenon, and this perspective from a 29 year old artist seems to be shared by many, but in these confusing times what is the norm?Send Nudes! — Do You? -- VERITE PUBLISHED --- Social study, Culture, Social Media, Nudes, Selfie, Send Nudes, Internet, Millennials. In a millennials daily life nudes seem to be synonymous with dating. Blame the smart phone, blame Snapchat, but it’s a concept so frequently indulged in that it has its own viral catch phrase (a meme, as the kids call it). So, we went straight to the source and asked women of varying ages and lifestyles what their stance is on the scantily-clad-selfie. In journalist Jenna Wortham’s piece on sexting, which is referred to in Aziz Ansari’s book Modern Romance, she discovered that most young people engage in this kind of communication with either their S/O or a potential partner often because the device between them makes the sender feel comfortable being so candid. We have to ask though is sending imagery to accompany your erotic lit. circa 2017 still a little too taboo? Or do the two go hand-in-hand? Let the girls tell you…

In throwing the question “Do you send nudes?” out into the world we found women were more than happy to be completely transparent about their habits, and views on the subject. This story didn’t set out to tsk-tsk anyone out of sending nudes — it was a legitimate pursuit of insight beyond our own dating experiences, but as we dug deeper into the matter we were surprised to find that almost all the women we polled have sent nudes, but don’t really participate in the activity anymore. While Wortham’s study found that almost everyone sexts, our conclusion says nude selfies are fewer. Is it because we’ve exhausted ourselves on the infatuation of ease that technology offers us, or maybe we’ve painfully learned to keep those things for IRL.

We asked one 30 year old marketing guru her stance on the matter to find it was pretty set in stone. “No. because I don’t like ‘sexting’ and entertaining someone through a little computer/phone. Also, if I really was trying to get in the mood via phone, it would be too complicated trying to get the right angle/etc to send over and I would just lose all excitement. Third reason, 1000% they are showing these pics to all of their friends and I feel like they are requesting pics like this from every girl they come across, which means I’m one of many girls in his phone nude. When we are done talking/dating, I don’t want to be one of many he’s swiping through in a nude folder so he can revert back to get off some day. Eww. If, I was in a serious committed relationship, I’d send pics but probably not unless I’m asked but since I’m such a sexual person, I think time apart is more of a break because when we are together it’s on! I’m more into physical satisfaction than digital. And when I break up, I will delete the photos myself from his phone. On another note, most guys I date don’t really ask but the ones who do are usually the sleazy ones who have shade all over them.Send Nudes! — Do You? -- VERITE PUBLISHED --- Social study, Culture, Social Media, Nudes, Selfie, Send Nudes, Internet, Millennials.

Many of our subjects have indulged further but only in ways that make them feel that they are in control. Twenty-two year old student says of her and her friends “I haven’t! But not opposed! I’ve sent like a hot pic but never an actual nude — if I trusted the person and had a good nude I would. My best friend does and never sends one with her head in it — she’s always like ‘What if I want to be a politician and he wants revenge!’”

Holding the power seems to be a necessity when feeling it’s a safe place to share such imagery. A 33 year old creative says that although she has, she much prefers an element of artistry to them, also mutual feeling of many of the girls we asked. “I took photos during sex with a past lover this year… They were so beautiful. I deleted them off my phone for energy purposes, but don’t care that he has them. I look like a goddess. It’s not my style. I prefer artsy close ups of my eyes or lips, or something moody and suggestive without showing face.”

As for the 25 year old designer who is self-proclaimed as fairly uninhibited, “Personally, I don’t send anything I wouldn’t post on the internet myself. I want the men I date to understand the relationship between my body and respect. Once we have established a strong bond of trust then yes, I will, but still nothing I wouldn’t be comfortable with going viral.”

This thought it seconded by a twenty-three year old: “I used to but I don’t anymore, because you realize one day that that the respect and attention you want doesn’t come from sending nudies.”Send Nudes! — Do You? -- VERITE PUBLISHED --- Social study, Culture, Social Media, Nudes, Selfie, Send Nudes, Internet, Millennials.

“Truth is, it never really feels as satisfying as you think it will…” the above quoted designer elaborates, and this seems to be the consensus. “Once the send button has been pushed, all excitement seems to dissipate as the virtual reaction of validation just seems to feel forced or seeking.”

As the conversations of do or don’t got into the nitty gritty, we headed to Reddit to see what the people of the internet had to say in the matter. User Twatmist said of scandalous sharing “I’ve sent them to both serious boyfriends and FWBs. I like making them hot and bothered when we’re apart. It makes it more fun and passionate when we finally get to meet. I’m not very bothered by the idea of those pictures being circulated, because I never include my face.“

“There really shouldn’t be any judgement in sending nudes. If the person you’re exchanging them with is comfortable with it then it’s all great fun, especially if you can’t see each other as often as you’d like. If the person you’re sending nudes to is sharing them then you really shouldn’t be sending that person nudes. Only send nudes to people you trust, people.” says another enlightened Reddit user ShineOnYouFatOldSun.

In the aforementioned book Modern Romance, the author touches on the fact that sending nude imagery seems much riskier for women than men, mainly because of the imbalance of slut shaming slanted towards the female population. Our research concludes a similar fear, or a seasoned smartness about sharing. The need to feel respected, and safe shared by our interviewees shows a sense of purposeful handling of the content that meets the virtual world. It’s possible that too many of these girls have learned in an unpleasant way what could come of their privately gifted images. That being said, we truly believe, as a coexisting public are not to be the dictators of how people share their sexuality with those of their choosing whether it be cautious, or carefree.
